Our Approach to Privacy

At CSVtoAny, we prioritize your privacy with a client-side architecture: Your file data never leaves your device.

What This Means:

  • Your Files: We never collect, upload, or store your CSV, Excel, JSON, or any other file contents.
  • Analytics Data: We do collect anonymous usage statistics (page views, conversions counts, error rates) to improve the service. This metadata does not include your file contents or personal information.

1. The "No-Upload" Policy

Unlike traditional online converters, CSVtoAny operates as a client-side application. This means:

  • Local Processing: When you select a file (CSV, Excel, JSON, etc.), it is processed directly by the JavaScript engine in your web browser.
  • No Server Transfer: Your file data is never uploaded to our servers, cloud storage, or any third-party processor.
  • Data Isolation: The conversion process happens entirely within your device's memory (RAM). Once you close the tab, the data is cleared from your browser's memory.
  • Offline Capable: Once the page loads, core conversion features work without an internet connection (though the initial page load requires network access).

2. Information We Do Collect

While we do not collect your file contents, we may collect standard metadata to maintain and improve our website:

2.1 Usage Statistics (Anonymous)

We use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) to understand:

  • Which tools are most popular.
  • General geographic regions of our users.
  • Browser types and screen sizes to optimize our design.
  • Error logs (e.g., if a conversion fails due to a bug), which do not contain your file data.

Important: These analytics only track page views and interactions. They cannot and do not access your file contents.

2.2 Server Logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic request information, including:

  • IP address (for security and DDoS protection).
  • Date and time of access.
  • Referring website.

These logs contain standard HTTP metadata and do not include file contents.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

We use minimal cookies and local storage for functional purposes:

  • Preferences: To remember your selected language or UI theme.
  • Analytics: To distinguish unique visitors (anonymously).

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site preferences may not be saved.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use trusted third-party services for specific functions:

  • Analytics: We may use Google Analytics or similar services to track website performance.
  • Advertising: We may display non-intrusive advertisements to support the free operation of this site. These ad providers may use cookies to serve relevant ads.

5. Data Security

Even though we don't store your files, we secure the delivery of our application:

  • HTTPS Encryption: All connections to our website are secured with industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption.
  • Content Security Policy (CSP): We implement strict security policies to prevent malicious script injection.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our technology or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will indicate the latest revision.
